The Liberal Blathery of Elizabeth Warren and Our Nation of Freeloaders

A dopey liberal friend on Facebook posted this tribute to our local dem senate candidate with the words:

“She just said the best thing. Possibly ever.”

The first thing I did was summon all my self-control to keep me from commenting in the fashion I always do. I’ve seen that movie, I know how it ends. She comes back with some non-sequitur about Bush and Wall Street bail-outs, then I respond with independent facts that prove she’s a mindless fool incapable of independent thought, and with 24 hours, I’m “defriended.”

Nope, not going to let that happen (again). Today will be different, today I will behave like the professional economist that I am. Today I will break down Warren’s claim with cold hard facts and see if it holds water (that will make me feel better).

I will probably still end up "defriended"...

A Nation of Freeloaders?

Elizabeth claim that “the rest of us” paid for the roads, schools, and public safety that factory owners rely on “to get rich” certainly sounds compelling, but let’s look at the facts:

Nearly half of “the rest of us” pay absolutely no federal income taxes (46%+).
Although everyone who works pays the so-called “payroll tax,” the truth is that’s actually the only official source of funding for Social Security and Medicare. And since both of these programs are underwater and sinking fast, there is nothing left to pay for “for the roads, schools, and public safety that factory owners rely on “to get rich.” Everything "the rest of us" pay into the so-called payroll tax comes back to us in government hand-outs and more!
The only people paying for the growing deficit in Social Security and Medicare (and 40% of everything Obama does) are the people who actually pay income taxes and this chart from The Tax Foundation says it all:

Note Elizabeth that at least 60% of “the rest of us” are national freeloaders who take far more than they pay in taxes.
And further note Elizabeth that those making over $100,000 actually pay 3 times as much as they receive “from the rest of us,” which is nothing!
But that’s just the so-called rich, what about the über-rich, those who “own the factories” Warren is whining about. According to the “center left” Tax Policy Center, the top 1/10^th of 1% of all tax payers pay more than the bottom 80% (also known as “The Rest of Us”).

The Truth Will Set Us Free

The undeniable fact is that we are a growing nation of freeloaders who contribute absolutely nothing to roads, schools, and public safety because most of "the rest of us" slop up way more than our "fair share" at the public trough. The only people paying their fair share (and quite a bit more) are the very targets of the liberal class warfare.

Factual Fabrication?

So this is what the left has been reduced to in 2011. Fabricating “facts” (also known as lies) about alleged social injustice to advance their anti-business (anti-American) class warfare rhetoric against the private sector and backing it up with a passionate speech that “goes viral” thanks to mindless dopes on Facebook.

If we let these people continue to run the country – we’re all doomed.
