The Next President of The United States? The Next President of The United States?"One thing both sides agree on is Rick Perry is running for President — no matter what he and those in his inner circle say."

TIME Magazine June 18, 2011

My mother is from West Texas and thus I grew up with a heavy dose of Texas Grit. Politically, I thought both the Bush's were a tad liberal, but as men, I truly admire both of these ex-Presidents from Texas.

As we look toward the final republican field for the 2012 Presidential Election, there appears to be one more "big fish" jumping into the pond -- Texas Governor Rick Perry.

A few weeks ago, I wrote about Romney's emergence as both the republican frontrunner and the man who can beat Barrack Obama in the next election (see: "Romney Leads Obama by 3 Points!")

All that could change in a matter of days if the pundits are correct and Rick Perry throws his hat in the ring.

Both Romney and Perry qualify as experienced "adults" who can end the long liberal nightmare that began when Nancy Peloisi became speaker and augered into the Great Recession when Obama's tax and spend spree began in 2009.

Unlike Romney, who's a little too rich, Morman, and the architect of the universal healthcare plan that rhymes with Obamacare, Perry matches up quite nicely in what should be the most heated election since 1968.

The Ultimate Political Smackdown

I believe that unemployment and job creation will be the central issue in the 2012 election. Specifically, it will be a national referendum on tax and spend liberalism versus the kind of pro-private sector growth policies that have driven an economic turnaround in Texas.

As I have reported many times, California is perhaps the best example of runaway liberalism in America these days. Last fall, they took the full plunge by electing the man who originally created public sector labor unions in California for Governor -- Jerry Brown. How's that working out for ya?

Not good...

On Thursday, The OC Register reported:

  • Through June 16, 129 California companies have moved jobs, work and/or headquarters out of California.
  • That is 60 more since April 15
  • So far this year, the departures average 5.4 a week, compared to 3.9 a week in 2010 and one a week in 2009.

Among those companies hitting the road is a refrigeration manufacturer named Kairik, which is moving to Texas!

The Texas Miracle

Not only are companies like Kairik moving in droves to Rick Perry's pro-business climate in Texas, but they're also creating new private sector jobs. Since the recession bottomed out in 2009, Texas has added 254,000 jobs -- that's one third of all of the jobs created in the United States in the same time period. Imagine Perry and Obama debating how to create new jobs?

On Thursday, the Wall Street Journal reported:

"Next on Mr. Perry's list is a reform of corporate income taxes in order to give U.S. firms an incentive to repatriate more than $1 trillion held in offshore subsidiaries. "Give people an incentive to start investing in America again," he said, adding that corporate taxes in general need to be restructured to encourage job creation. "There's a lot of money out there, but people are afraid to invest it . . . because they don't know what Washington's going to do."

And, not only does Texas have no income tax, but they also have low cost health insurance thanks to Perry's leadership in wiping out frivolous medical lawsuits, which is the number one flaw in Obamacare's cost structure.

It's The Border Stupid

As just about everyone knows that one of the big deficit drivers in America today is the ongoing flood of illegal immigrants entering the country and sucking up our lavish entitlements without ever having contributed to their funding.

As a border Governor, Perry knows first hand about the fiscal and social cost of ignoring border protection and this is yet another killer issue in a presidential debate. In fact, 67% of American's oppose Obama's position on the Arizona Immigration Law while only 24% agree with the president.

And while Obama is suing Arizona for trying to enforce the law, Perry has been an activist in begging and pleading with the federal government to fulfill their constitutional duty.

In 2010, after being ignored by Obama for months. Perry ambushed him getting off Air Force One for a democrat fundraiser in Texas and handed him a letter that said among other things:

"Absent stronger federal action, it's only a matter of time before violence affects more innocent Americans," Perry's letter said. "We cannot afford to allow these (Mexican drug) cartels to believe they're free to extend their reach across the border onto American soil."

And in another act of outrageous arrogance, Obama didn't read the letter, he simply handed it to Valerie Jarrett, one of his chief hacks.

Perry took it all in and then just left the airport "to reload."

My advice to Barack Obama -- don't mess with Rick Perry!

Dave

One thing both sides agree on is Rick Perry is running for President — no matter what he and those in his inner circle say.

The Frightening Tale of Obama’s Peeps

“When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic.” Benjamin Franklin I don’t know about you, but the recent “bump” in Obama’s approval numbers are starting to depress me. Can’t people see that he’s killing the economy, stifling business expansion with taxes and regulations, and fueling the kind of class warfare that tears nations apart? The thing is, if you study the numbers, it’s not surprising at all. Our nation is now h [ ... ]
